The key date of the Walking Liberty series - the 1921-D saw production of only 208,000 pieces. As the economic conditions during the early 1920s did not demand high quantities of half dollars, these coins were not produced in large numbers. This example, graded as XF45 by NGC, is a textbook example of a choice XF - just shy of AU with significant original detail.
The coin has an honest, light-gray patina that complements its details, offering a pleasing overall appearance. The surfaces are smooth and present very few marks. A superb example of this rarity.
