Walking Liberty Half Dollar 1941. This coin features a nicely designed Liberty walking to the left toward the dawn wrapped in the American flag on the obverse and our majestic U. Eagle perched on a mountain on the reverse. This coin features the right facing bust of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. An eagle was added to the right of the Liberty Bell in order to fulfill laws requiring an eagle on half dollars. It was the first to display a non-U.

President and the last to contain 90% silver. The 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar was struck from 90% silver.

It was struck shortly after President John F. Kennedy halves in 1965 through 1970 were 40% silver.

From 1971 to the present these halves have had a clad composition. This coin features his left facing bust of the president on the obverse and the heraldic eagle (symbolizing power, authority, and freedom) on the reverse.
